Magic Window App Reviews

Consumes CPU and RAM!!

If you see the activity monitor on your Mac, it takes 3% of CPU when is set to Slowest and more than 12% on fastest. And 233MB of RAM!!!

nice app

i love the moving scenes as a background for the computer i would love to see more nature pictures and maybe even some of the sky/stars would be awesome! if possible reduce cpu/ram usage

NEED MORE!!!!!!!!!

Sweet, but few pictures.

Boring!

With the world as your canvis you missed. Try MACRO or Drops of rain. Thats just my paid opinion. Plus side: It works and has potential.

Fantastic App

No complaints, this is a great app and there are LOTS of background options!

hit and miss

good app but it just moves to slow..even on the fastest setting….. just disappoints

One Desired Change

I love this application! The only change that I would make is to not have default scenes that you must have in the application as I would prefer to only use the ones that I want in order to save some disk space (not much on ssds). Other than that I absolutely love this application!

Love this app

Helps bring a bit of peace and calm on my desktop. Love it when I walk away and come back to the Screensaver mode and I just sit and admire the scenery. Have the Ipad version also, but this one rocks because of the combo wallper and screensaver mode.

Great App

Beautiful time lapses. I have it set on the slowest time setting. My desktop looks like the wallpaper is static but over the day the scene slowly changes. I am running a 2008 iMac and Macbook on mountain lion and it works just fine for me without hogging system resources. CPU usage for me is less than 5% on the slow setting. The app has been updated more than once a year since I got it. Each update brings spectacular new time lapses.

Love it!

I’ve enjoyed Magic Window every day since I bought it seven months ago. There are so many different desktop backgrounds and I never get tired of watching the light change as night falls in places like Tokyo or Yosemite National Park. It’s definitely one of my favorite apps.

Looks good, nice photography, HUGE memory leak

Ran this thing for 24 hours. After that OSX Yosemite started complaining I was out of memory and had to close software. I have a 32GB Mac Pro (!!) and this has never happened before. kernel_task was running at 18GB of usage. Closed only open app which was Chrome. No help. Killed Magic Window, kernel_task instantly fixed itself. I guess I’m saying to avoid this version and let’s hope it gets fixed in the next version?

Works nicely.

Magnificent

Fantastic update. Pictures actually look clearer and colors are brighter. Better resolution. CPU rate is definitely down.

デスクトップ切替時のラグが残念

Although wallpapers itself are very beautiful, they are spoiled by time lug for display when I switch between active desktops. Please update this problem, and then this app will be far more better.

Nice scenes and timelapses but stupid system

This would be a great app if it’s system was better. It has really amazing timelapse shots. The wall paper feature works flawlessly. The screensaver however is a whole other story. The screensaver system doesnt actually register the Magic Window screensavers as a system screensaver. This means that you can’t change it from the screensaver menu in System Preferences or can’t be started with hot corners. If you activate a hot corner that’s supposed to start the screensaver it will start the system screensaver that you set up instead of the Magic Window one. This also means that you have to disable the system sceensaver by setting the time to “Never” or else the Magic Window one won’t work. One other problem with the screensaver is that it doesn’t get deactivated when you’re watching something. This means that the Magic Window screensaver will start after the designated time unless you quit the app which is non-practical. I wish you could register these screensavers as system ones so you would have more control over them. They will hopefully add this feature in the future but for now the screensaver part of this app (which cannot be disabled) is useless.

Beautiful!

The most amazing wallpaper app I have ever seen! Its worth every money. All wallpapers are full HD and stunning! Very low usage of CPU :)

It’s really awesome!

But it’s broken in El Capitan 10.11.4. Please, fix.

correct the bug please

only when i activate this program some other programs like Pulp from mac app store dont works well…the screen start to flickering…crashes…etc..

Cool but….

It activates during video playback and not sure why?!?!?! It doesn’t matter if its from a streaming website i.e. youtube, netflix etc. or if its a video file from PC. Its very frustrating. That aside its an ok app. cool places could be more.

Really nice dynamic wallpaper!

I really like this application. The scenes to choose from are outstanding and there are a lot of them to choose from! Well worth the purchase for me. There’s also a 4k version! So you may want to grab that one if it’s applicable to your system.
