Best Desktop/Screensaver App

This app, and their other collections for Tahoe, and Yosemite are all awesome! I have them all. Theyre so calming and relaxing to look at, watching some of them change is amazing. The only problem is choosing which one is my startup choice.

Only works if the app is open

Failed to realize this only works if I have the app open. Should’ve looked further into it before blindly buying it for $7. Brilliant time lapses with beautiful sceneries for sure, no doubt about that. Don’t regret getting it for that reason. But I don’t want this thing having to be open all the time; I was hoping for something where I could install one single time lapse as a screensaver but instead can’t just simply do that; I have to have the app open and running. Would rather not waste more CPU than necessary. Nice try though. Not sure if I regret this purchase since it was only a few bucks and the scenery is beautiful.

Magic Window now 115 scenes!

A truly ‘MAGICAL’ App Magical Window is! It’s stunningly beautiful, now with 115 scenes! I just had to get this after I bought Magical Window Yosemite. The two together can easily make you forget what you fired up your computer to do. I have an enormous amount of fun just watching these by all the choices you have in order to watch them! I also told myself, oh heck, kick in Tahoe Blue. ALL IN TIMELAPSE PHOTOGRAPHY. It doesn’t matter what order you get any of these in, you’ll want and enjoy all of them. Oh yes, you can also read my review of MAGIC FLOWERS, I couldn’t pass up that gorgeousness!

My Art Work for my office

I enjoy this app a lot. It makes my office very inviting. It is one of the best things on my iMac and MacBook Pro (and iPad and iPhone)!

Magic WIndow is great and give you a sense of time!

I love using Magic Window as great way to not only get a beatiful wall paper but give my mac expereince a sense of time when working on long projects. For instance when i was writing my college thesis i would often sit at my desk for many hours on end and i enjoyed judging how effeciantly i was working based on the how many cycles magic window went through. Now that im working with two moniors I wish magic window had support dual monitors where one wall paper was the exentsion photo to the other one. For example a river that would flow from one screen to the other. That would be really Cool! Hence the four star rating over the five star rating. Otherwise thanks for a great peice of software!

no update for a year ?

Where is the update ?

Hangs & Lack of Scenery

I was really happy to see this update. Was really looking for the noted changes and performance improvements. Performance has always really caused me problems with this app. I have multiple monitors and quite a hefty setup for a Mac Pro, but it still likes to bring the performance down considerably. I am unfortunately still seeing performance issues with the Window Manager when using the app, so I dont think things really are resolved. I had to shut er down again. I found that even while browsing scenes that if the scenery was playing on the desktops I had to pause it or very serious hangs would occur while browsing. Further I found that hangs would sometimes happen even with the desktops paused. Odd and erratic behavior. Further, I was disappointed by the lack of some additional scenery. It seems like they get a lot of big cities, California and high populous areas, but miss the truly beautiful locations on the planet. For example, Id really love to see some scenery added from the remarkable Appalachian Mountains, southern Ohio foothills, Hocking Hills in the fall (and summer), some of the more striking river scenes around Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee. These places are arguably orders of magnitude more beautiful than any of the included scenery so far.

I run the 4K version on my 27”iMac and this on on my mac mini both are great

on my mid 2015 maxed out mac mini with a 23” apple cinema display I have no performance issues even when runnig high end solid modeling software and the way it handels its built in screensaver is also problem free though the screen saver can display the time it does not show the text discription of the scene The huge expansion of the included scenes is another great bonus but you do have to go into the scene browser and download them

Disappointing

I want a refund. Where are the sound effects for the imac version? The ipad version of Majic Window is great. The powerful feature is the sound effects. It was confusing to figure out how to use the app and which version of the app to buy for iMac and the imac system.
